Van Jones Wins With Health Care Law

Notice how that you have heard very little from Van Jones lately? He made this statement awhile back,

"I'm willing to forgo the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends".

I must say I am somewhat impressed that he was able to maintain that stance until he realized that "deep satisfaction" of Green For All's radical end.

What's that you say? You weren't aware that the avowed communist Van Jones has already seen some of his dreams of the redistribution of wealth and social justice come to fruition? How could that possibly be true? I will explain, but keep in mind that even with the victory he has already won, he did make this remark as well,

"Right now we say we want to move from suicidal gray capitalism to something eco-capitalism where at least we're not fast-tracking the destruction of the whole planet. Will that be enough? No, it won't be enough. We want to go beyond the systems of exploitation and oppression altogether. But, that's a process and I think that's what's great about the movement that is beginning to emerge is that the crisis is so severe in terms of joblessness, violence and now ecological threats that people are willing to be both pragmatic and visionary".

The words that you need to key in on here are, "Will that be enough? No, it won't be enough. We want to go beyond the systems of exploitation and oppression altogether. But, that's a process..."

Green For All is a community organization started by Jones which now has at the helm Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins. This organization initially put it's hopes in climate change legislation to help it, ""Capture the value of carbon emissions for public purposes and invest this resource in an equitable transition to a clean energy economy".

It is glaringly apparent now that these radicals had a back-up plan in the event that Cap and Trade didn't succeed.

On their blog Green For All has the statement concerning their march on D.C. on October 2nd,

"On the 2nd, we will celebrate the hard-fought achievements of the past two years: tax cuts for middle class, working families; healthcare that will be affordable for all of us; putting controls on Wall Street".

This post tell us two things of importance. First, it's obvious that Obama's agenda mirrors theirs or vice versa. Secondly, the newly passed health care law benefits them personally.

Sec. 4201 of Public Law No. 111-148, or the Health Care Law, addresses the matter of Community Transformation Grants. That most certainly has to be a strange coincidence. One, that Barack Obama is known as the greatest student of the father of community organizers, Saul Alinsky. Secondly, that the transformation could have nothing to do with Obama's promise of what we were five days away from at a point in our history. Nah.

Let's examine Green For All's mission and see if there is any correlation to Sec. 4201 of our new health care law the "anointed one" has bestowed upon us.

Their mission, "Green For All is a national organization working to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. Green For All is dedicated to improving the lives of all Americans through a clean energy economy. We work in collaboration with the business, government, labor, and grassroots communities to create and implement programs that increase quality jobs and opportunities in green industry – all while holding the most vulnerable people at the center of our agenda".

As with all progressive self assessments it sounds noble on the surface. Who could possibly be against lifting people out of poverty? Or improving the lives of all Americans through a clean energy economy? Or creating and implementing programs that increase quality jobs and opportunities in green industry? All while holding the most vulnerable people at the center of their agenda"? Aww. Where are the funds coming from to enact this~~dare I say~~social justice?

Funds that will ultimately trickle down to community organizations across the country such as Green For All and ACORN will be our tax dollars. Sleight of hand by way of Community Grants to realize the "redistribution of wealth" the great one promised.

Let's see if these fine organizations meet the criteria for the "Health Care Community Transformation Grants".

Being that they are health care grants, it would only be fitting that they would be administered by The Secretary of Health and Human Services, the lovely socialist Kathleen Sebelius.

SEC. 4201. COMMUNITY TRANSFORMATION GRANTS.

(a) IN GENERAL."The Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, shall award competitive grants to State and local governmental agencies and community-based organizations for the implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of evidence-based community preventive health activities in order to reduce chronic disease rates, prevent the development of secondary conditions, address health disparities, and develop a stronger evidence-base of effective prevention programming.

16 (b) ELIGIBILITY. To be eligible to receive a grant they must be in "a national network of community-based organizations". I would say these organizations are still in the running.

Now the next section really puts the icing on the cake for community organizations. This will eliminate any of that waiting around on Pelosi, Reid, or John Kerry and their inabilities to pass any energy legislation that would have facilitated carbon emissions funds.

(c) USE OF FUNDS.
(vi) prioritizing strategies to reduce racial and ethnic disparities, including social, economic, and geographic determinants of health; and addressing special populations needs, including all age groups and individuals with disabilities, and individuals in both urban and rural areas.

That last one is it folks. The progressive appeasement of community organizations in a nutshell. The Use Of Funds section of 4201 addresses every need of every minority community organization in America. That definition of the law is so broad as to cover any amount of redistributed wealth that it takes to "level the playing field".

Listen to the words once again of Van Jones and see what "radical end" he was in search for. Compare those goals and ideals with the use of these funds outlined in (c) above.

"The white polluters and the white environmentalists are essentially steering poison into the people of color's communities because they don’t have a racial justice frame. There’s a problem left to itself this new third wave of environmentalism could become eco-apartheid the ecological ‘haves’ could just get more and the ecological ‘have nots’ could just get less and less".

"This movement is deeper than a solar panel! Deeper than a solar panel! Don't stop there! Don't stop there! We're gonna change the whole system! We're gonna change the whole thing"!

Has Van Jones won a major victory with health care reform? While you're deciding, listen to the Jones inspired anthem of Green For All.
